Chargers RB Curtis Brinkley Shot at Philadelphia Intersection

Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley was shot while stopped in his car at an intersection outside of Philadelphia.

According to authorities, a man approached Brinkley’s car with a handgun and began shooting, hitting the 23-year-old NFL star multiple times. Brinkley was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment. His wounds are reportedly not life threatening.

Police are still looking for the gunman. The motive for the shooting is still unclear.

Brinkley played at Syracuse University before being signed with the San Diego Chargers as a free agent following the 2009 NFL draft.

His shooting comes just six days after former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was shot and killed by his girlfriend Sahel Kazemi, who committed suicide after the killing.
