The invitation-only funeral for singing legend Whitney Houston will be broadcast live on television and streamed online, CNN has confirmed. The funeral service will begin at noon at Houston’s childhood church, New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. Marvin L. Winans, the pastor who married Houston and Bobby Brown in 1992, will deliver the eulogy, and Aretha Franklin, Houston’s godmother, will sing.
Among the numerous celebrities set to attend the funeral are Chaka Khan, LA Reid, Ray J, Brandy, Darlene Love, and Bebe & CeCe Winans.
TMZ reports Houston will be buried next to her father, John Russell Houston, at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.
Houston was found dead Saturday afternoon in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Authorities reportedly believe she died from a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death after reviewing autopsy and toxicology results. Houston was 48. She leaves behind ex-husband Bobby Brown and their 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.
