Chris Brown Used Pickup Line “I Promise I Won’t Beat You,” Woman Claims

An unidentified woman tells Us Weekly she was disgusted when rapper Chris Brown used his history of felony assault in a pickup line. The woman claims Brown approached her at the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge last Friday and said, “Can I get your number? I promise I won’t beat you!”

Brown and his friends allegedly laughed and one friend said, “That’s his new line!” “I wanted to throw up!" the woman tells Us Weekly.

A rep for Brown did not deny the woman’s claim, but did say, “I’d be surprised if Chris said something that stupid.”

In February 2009, Brown was arrested for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna during an argument. He pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to 5 years of probation, 6 months of community service and 1 year of domestic violence counseling.

His arrest continues to negatively affect his public image. After Brown performed twice and won an award at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, several celebrities hit Twitter to fume about the music industry apparently forgetting his arrest.

"Twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl ... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys," Miranda Lambert tweeted.

"People don't forget! #chrisbrownbeatswomen," Jack Osbourne wrote.

"Trying not to go off on a rant but...Chris Brown...*bites tongue* have we forgiven him? #Grammys," Michelle Branch Tweeted.
