Marriage Proposal on Valentine’s Day Goes Viral on Facebook

Asia Food Recipe announced that a marriage proposal of a Singaporean man presented in the form of a cooking recipe on AsiaFoodRecipe.com – Asia’s largest cooking recipe website, has gone viral on the Net and sparked the curiosity of singles and couples alike over his unique wedding proposal.

Dexter Ng explains in the recipe, which he titled “Recipe for a Dreamy Fairytale Wedding (Shermane, Will You Marry Me?),” that the key to making his recipe work is the agreement of his girlfriend, Shermane Ten, to his proposal.

Dressed casually, the video opens with Dexter sitting in a chair waving to and addressing his girlfriend as “honey.” He then goes on to describe the “Ten Commandments” of their relationship which consisted of the vows he publicly made to his girlfriend.

In the recipe, Dexter introduced his dish, guaranteeing that “the sweetness is bound to linger in your mouth for years to come.” He even included an allergy warning: “May contain traces of teases and tickles.”

Dexter even lists the “ingredients” with some additional promises he makes to his girlfriend ranging from the bizarre “cockroach stomping” to the squeal-worthy “fortnightly date nights” and “unconditional love for eternity.”

He then goes on to describe the preparation method with steps laden with sweet similes, liking the process of making the “dish” to their relationship such as “knead until warm like our love” and “wait for it to double in size like our attraction for each other.”

“Wait for Shermane to say the magic words… Enjoy togetherness for a lifetime,” he concludes the preparation method.

The recipe, which was posted to Asian Food Recipe on Thursday, has attracted more than 200,000 views in just two days and been commented on more than 160 times.

The recipe spawned numerous comments. Although most gushing about the thought and effort that Dexter put into executing this creative proposal, there were those that truly felt the love behind Dexter’s action.

“That is so sweet!! This is exactly how I want my wedding proposal to be! I’m sure she’ll say yes. Great job Dexter!” wrote one netizen.

Another netizen told Dexter “I’m glad there are still nice men out there in this world who treasure their girls enough to do something like that for them. May your marriage last forever.”

“Sometimes I really wonder if there is any limit to the creativity of men proposing to their girls,” said another netizen.
