The U.S. is now out of the Davis Cup. This past weekend in Porec, Croatia the United States was eliminated by Croatia. Marin Cilic who is ranked No. 15 helped his team eliminate the U.S. Cilic told the Davis Cup radio that it was one of the best matches he has ever played.
The U.S could have had a better chance if Andy Roddick had not pulled out due to a hip injury after his Wimbledon final. Then U.S. Captain Patrick McEnroe chose James Blake to play and he ended up losing both his single matches.
Unfortunately, the two times the United States went to Croatia they have come back empty handed. Ironically, the both times they came Andy Roddick was not there. I guess the US knows what they can change for a different outcome next time.
