Built with crystal-clear acoustic speakers and attention to every detail, ReaderDock delivers FireStation and N-Station — the first and only docking stations with custom features designed specifically for the Kindle Fire, Nook Color, and Nook Tablet.
"E-readers are for more than just reading and we felt it was important to deliver products designed specifically for each device and offer the best feature integration and product accessories on the market." says Gina Kearney, a co-owner of ReaderDock.
The FireStation (for Kindle Fire) and N-Station (for Nook Color/Tablet) include a built-in amplifier with volume control that can be turned on or off and are powered with the standard USB cable and power adapter included with each tablet. Both tablets easily slide into these lightweight docks and can also be removed with ease. The cradle holds them firmly in place and can be rotated vertically and horizontally to accommodate any viewing angle.
One of the main challenges in designing for the Kindle Fire is that all the connectors – the USB port, headphone jack and power button – are all located at the bottom of the device. This made it difficult to engineer a device that allows for charging, listening to audio, and turning the device on and off, all at the same time.
So the folks at ReaderDock developed an innovative solution... a custom dual connector on the bottom of the cradle that plugs into the headphone jack and the USB port on the Kindle Fire simultaneously. They also added a custom power button extension to turn the Kindle Fire on and off without having to remove it from the dock.
But the headphone jack still posed a problem because with the Kindle Fire docked, it was not possible to listen to audio through anything other than the dock itself. So ReaderDock took to asking their loyal FireStation fan base at www.ReaderDock.com if they would prefer an output jack on the back of the FireStation. They received a resounding positive response. The back of the FireStation base now features a standard 3.5mm jack that can be used to output the audio signal to headphones or bigger amplifiers, instantly turning the Fire into the centerpiece of your music media center for listening to your own playlists, Pandora internet radio, or any other music application available for the Kindle.
"We wanted FireStation to be easy to use and integrate seamlessly with Kindle Fire and thanks to our innovative designers and loyal online fan base, we were able to do just that."
