Local Alabama Councilman hit with sexual harassment lawsuit

Anniston, AL- Anniston councilman David Lawson has been hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit stemming from an incident at his former job as a pathologist.

Regional Medical Center, an RMC employee Tim Jones, and Anniston Pathology Services were also named in the suit. Lawson is facing a sexual harassment lawsuit while the other defendants are accused of neglecting their duties.

Kay Dodd filed the lawsuit last week alleging that Lawson repeatedly sexually harassed her. This issue was not addressed by Anniston Pathology Services and the harassment eventually culminated in a sexual assault by Lawson.

Victims often enlist a sexual harassment attorney when their concerns are not addressed by their employers.

According to the lawsuit, Dawson would repeatedly make dirty jokes that were sexually suggestive, he would boast about his sexual prowess, and gave explicit greeting cards to Dodd and other RMC employees.

The events continued until an incident in 2011 were Lawson came into Dodd’s office and after a brief discussion straddled her as she sat in a chair. Dawson allegedly began kissing and licking Dodd’s face while touching her breasts.

Dodd reported the incident to supervisors at RMC and as a result she was intimidated and subjected to retaliation by Tim Jones.

A sexual harassment lawyer can help put an end to hostile behavior in the workplace when the employer fails to protect their workers. The people subjected to harassment and retaliation can seek compensation for lost wages and emotional suffering when they retain a highly qualified sexual harassment attorney
