Phillips Law Group Warns of Increased Risk of Mesh Complications in Transvaginal Procedure

The vaginal mesh lawyers at Phillips Law Group are warning the public of the increased risk of mesh complications present in transvaginal procedures used to treat the symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.  The FDA released a statement regarding the high chance of mesh complication in individuals who have endured the surgical placement of the mesh through organ walls; an unnecessary risk as surgical mesh procedures have not proven more successful than non-surgical treatment options.  Complications associated with surgical mesh procedures include mesh erosion and urinary problems, among other injuries.  To learn more about vaginal mesh lawsuits or for more information on the legal rights which may be available to women who have suffered from transvaginal mesh complications, visit http://www.phillipslaw.com/bard-avaulta-mesh and complete the free case review form.

In October 2008, the FDA received over 1,000 reports of mesh complications from nine different manufacturers.  Among the most common mesh complications reported were mesh erosion, urinary problems, infection and pain during intercourse.  Since then, the number of reported mesh complications has significantly increased, with almost five times the number of reported incidents from 2008 to 2010 when compared to 2005 to 2007.  In July 2011, the FDA released a statement regarding surgical mesh complications.  The FDA reported that mesh complications were not rare and that there was no evidence that surgical mesh procedures were more effective than non-mesh repair.

According to the injury firm’s website, women who have suffered an injury from a mesh complication following pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence surgery may have legal recourse.  A vaginal mesh lawsuit could provide suffering women the opportunity to recover damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering and other losses associated with mesh complications.  To find out if you are eligible to file a transvaginal mesh lawsuit, visit PhillipsLaw.com and fill out the free case review form.  The mesh complication lawyers at Phillips Law Group are offering a free and no obligation consultation to any woman who believes they may have cause for a mesh complication claim.
