When Clinton Martinez began searching for resources for the newly formed Utah Valley University Bass Club, his first call was to Sportsman’s Warehouse. Martinez, the faculty advisor to the club, is an avid bass fisherman himself and knows that the right equipment can make a big difference in success on the water.
“Our club is competing against other universities in the FLW College Fishing Tournament, so the competition is pretty stiff,” noted Martinez. “I’m very grateful to Sportsman’s Warehouse for helping us take our club to the next level with funding and equipment. It makes a huge difference.”
In addition to teaching students the art of bass fishing, the club competes against other universities in the West, including Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado State and the University of Oregon. Trophy bass sought after by the anglers can weigh more than eight pounds and be more than 24 inches in length.
