Idaho Rep. Senator resigns after allegations of sexual harassment

Boise, ID- Republican Senator John McGee has resigned after allegations that he sexually harassed a Senate attaché.

McGee was thought to be a rising star on the political scene, but has been involved in a couple of scandals, which has caused his fall. Last summer, McGee was arrested for stealing a truck and driving while intoxicated after a spending the day at a golf tournament. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI.

McGee also went under fire for taking $6,000 per diem intended to help legislators offset the cost of residing in Boise while the Senate is in session. McGee was staying with his parents who live just 30 miles away from the capital.

And now the four-term Senator has been accused of sexual harassment. The allegation surfaced on Saturday. The identity of the victim and the details of the allegations are being kept confidential. The attaché has been reassigned.

Harassment is a serious problem in the workplace and victims can hire a sexual harassment attorney to help them with a lawsuit.

Senate President Pro Tem Brent Hill said in statement, “Senator McGee admits no wrongdoing.”

In this case the accuser has not been subjected to retaliation, which sexual harassment lawyers identify as a common issue in cases of this nature. With the representation of a sexual harassment attorney the victims of the misconduct are able to seek compensation for any lost wages and emotional suffering.
