Themed weekends at the
amusement park just took on a whole new meaning. A small amusement park on the
outskirts of Tacoma is teaming up with a Seattle-based SEO company, Zooming to
the Top, to create a weekend-long event that teaches people the importance of
developing an SEO strategy for their website.
“Companies and website owners know they need an SEO strategy for their website
but they don’t realize just how important it is for their company”, Zooming to
the Top’s CEO Jerry Frit said. “We believe by making a fun event out of the
concepts surrounding SEO people will realize how this can help them and their
company.”
The weekend-long event will involve lectures from top Seattle
SEO experts, networking opportunities, and themed
rides that focus on some of the concepts of SEO. Vendors offering website
designing services, freelance writing, and marketing services will be available
to individuals who attend this event.
The highlight of the event, and what separates it from other SEO events is the
interactive nature of the weekend. Amusement park rides will be transformed
into rides that recreate what SEO can do for the attendees’ websites. The rides
will still be the same, but the names will be changed to represent SEO
concepts.
“We thought by creating an interactive event people will learn what an SEO
strategy can do for their websites,” Frit said. “A great example of what we did
was took the ride ‘Devil Drop’ and made it into a recreation of how your search
engine rankings can drop without the right keywords. It’s now called “Ranking
Spirals”. Event attendees will hear a lecture that is held right outside the
‘Devil Drop’ and after the lecture they can ride the ride. It’s like a
simulation of what will happen to your rankings.”
The weekend-long event costs $125 per attendee. The cost covers the ability to
attend over 50 different lectures from top SEO experts, internet marketing
strategists and designers. The cost of the event also covers a three-day pass
to the amusement park, two networking events, and a five-course dinner that is
held on the final day of the event.
“This event combines my two favorite passions: amusement parks and a desire to
help my business to grow”, said Tom Heddings, a small business owner based out
of Everett, Washington. “My friends may think it’s geeky to attend an event
like this, but I think it could present valuable information, while giving me
the tools I need to help my business grow.”
