Ross Township, PA- A female employee at a retail shop said she was harassed by a co-worker, who sent her sexually charged text messages.
Kasey Seibert told local television station Channel 11 that the man, who is twice her age, began sending her text messages that were sexual in nature. “He threatened me with sexual favors and then, at one point said he was going to rape me,” Seibert told a reporter.
Seibert says she told the manager of the popular store that the man was harassing her, but was told nothing could be done because the texts came when they were off-duty. Seibert also stated that she left several messages on a complaint line and her calls were never returned.
In instances where an employee’s harassment allegations are ignored by supervisors, the victims can retain a sexual harassment attorney to address the behavior.
Seibert was so frustrated with her employer’s lack of concern that she went to Ross Township police.
The accused denies any Seibert allegations and the police are still looking into the matter. Seibert has since quit her job, stating she was too afraid to go back.
In many incidents of sexual harassment employers fail or refuse to address the conduct, as a consequence the victims turn to a sexual harassment lawyer to help halt the behavior. With the help of a sexual harassment attorney the employee can not only end the conduct but can also seek compensation.
