Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf proudly announced Friday that his daughter, Crown Princess Victoria, and her husband, Prince Daniel, named their new daughter Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary. Baby Estelle’s royal title will be Duchess of Ostergotland. Ostergotland is a province in southeast Sweden.
“We have now been given a little Princess Estelle in Sweden and we are all, particularly me and the family, very, very happy and joyful for that," King Carl said.
A spokesperson for the Royal Court told the Associated Press the names Silvia and Ewa come from Estelle’s grandmothers.
Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel left Stockholm’s Karolinska Hospital with Estelle yesterday and are currently resting at home. Estelle was born early Thursday morning weighing in at 7 lbs. 3 oz. She is the first child for the couple.
