Greek Lessons Publisher Announces Modern Greek Language Online Tutor
It is easier than ever to learn to speak modern Greek, thanks to a newly revised web site that has a new online Greek tutor just announced by the oldest publisher of Greek lessons in America, Papaloizos Publications.
Publisher and author Dr. Theodore C. Papaloizos has been writing textbooks for the study of the Greek language, culture, and history for over 50 years. He is the first such author outside of Greece, and his books continue to be used by all school teachers of the Greek language.
Schools and individual students are now able to use a new online Greek video tutor created by Dr. Papaloizos. A free sample lesson is available at http://www.Greek123.com
“This newest innovation will change the way Greek is learned in homes and in classrooms,” said Dr. Papaloizos. “The new online video tutor is designed for use with the reader and workbook, and assists students in learning Greek. It dramatically improves the learning experience of students by adding interactive reading and writing exercises, and enhanced self-study time to the curriculum.”
He explained that effective learning occurs when students combine reading and writing with audio, visual and interactive components. The newly designed web site and video tutor complete that system of learning to permit students to learn at school and at home at their convenience.
“Our method of teaching Greek has been proven effective for over fifty years in home study as well as the classroom. The Greek123 method uses the basic building blocks of the language so that students progress equally and methodically in reading, writing, speaking, and grammar. The mixed use of readers, workbooks, CDs, DVDs, and interactive computer products enhance the learning experience for students of all ages,” explained Dr. Papaloizos.
He developed his teaching method through his own experience as a Greek teacher for all ages of students from kindergarten to university students. He taught at Paphos High School, the Greek School of Holy Trinity Church in Pittsburgh, then served as principal and teacher at St. Sophia Cathedral in Washington, DC. He later became director of the Greek schools of St. Constantine and St. Helen, and was director of the Greek department of the Rev. Thomas Daniel Parochial School. He also taught an ancient Greek course at the Catholic University of Washington, DC.
