Sacha Baron Cohen was not the only one to create a stir at Sunday’s Academy Awards festivities. Blade Runner actress Sean Young was arrested Sunday night at the post-Oscars Governor’s Ball for allegedly slapping a security guard during an argument.
According to reports, Young did not have an invitation to the party, which was sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was turned away by security. She later returned to the party and began arguing with a security guard after he apparently denied her entrance a second time. The guard made a citizen’s arrest after Young slapped him. LAPD officers booked the 52-year-old for misdemeanor battery. City News Service reports she was released from custody shortly before 3 a.m. after posting $20,000 bail.
Young is best known for her roles in Blade Runner, Dune and No Way Out. She most recently starred on Gone Country 2, The Young and The Restless and Skating With the Stars. Her battle with alcohol addiction was featured on the 2011 season of Celebrity Rehab.
