Sean Young Demands Apology For Governors Ball Incident

Sean Young says she wants the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to apologize to her over an incident at their Governors Ball Sunday night that led to her arrest for misdemeanor battery. The actress admits to People magazine that she slapped a security guard outside the event, but claims he was at fault. Young, who did not have an invitation to the ball, was arrested after the altercation and charged with misdemeanor battery.

Young says she was trying to take pictures outside the Governors Ball when a security guard stopped her. "They said, 'No, you have to leave.’ I started to leave and [the guard] grabbed my arm and he started pulling me. And I turned around and I was pulling my arm away – and I struck him,” she tells People.

"They (the Academy) need to make a public apology on behalf of their security guard," she adds.

Young is best known for her roles in Blade Runner, Dune and No Way Out. She most recently starred on Gone Country 2, The Young and The Restless and Skating With the Stars. Her battle with alcohol addiction was featured on the 2011 season of Celebrity Rehab.
