On Thursday a pair of barges carrying construction material ruptured a natural gas pipeline causing an explosion about two miles from the shore. Rescue workers have continued their search for two other individuals who have been listed as missing.
Gulfport Energy Inc., owners of the pipeline that was ruptured, shut down their West Cote Blanche Bay field as a precautionary measure while they determine which pipeline was damaged.
