Semantix at TCEA 2012

The new technologies are increasingly used in the classroom, where both teachers and pupils use them as study support tools. Technological progress provides possibilities that can be used to innovate in teaching and enhance the learning process.

At the beginning of February, we were at TCEA 2012, an annual convention organised by the Texas Computer Education Association, where we learnt first-hand about new technological trends adapted to education, and were able to discover a large number of programs, applications and devices designed for interactive teaching.

This edition of the TCEA convention was particularly focused on software and products designed to help children with reading difficulties. We also found that there are a large number of visual tools available for classroom use. Of particular interest were the “Document Cameras” which project everything that falls within their sight. Another highlight was smart boards with printing capabilities, together with 3D technology.

The TCEA convention is certainly a great opportunity to learn about the new products available in a rapidly growing sector aimed at facilitating education.
