NFL legendary running-back, Barry Sanders, who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame filed for divorce, according to The Detroit Free Press.
Sanders filed for divorce last Friday in the Oakland County Circuit Court. In the document Sanders stated the reason for the split was a breakdown in the marital relationship with no probability that the marriage could be reconciled.
Sanders and his wife, Lauren Campbell Sanders, a TV news anchor, were married in 2000 and have three children together, ages 4, 8 and 10.
Sanders is asking for joint custody of their children and noted in the divorce filing that he expects to pay child support, according to TMZ.
The Sanders’ divorce seems to be amicable, but many divorces are rife with complications and financial issues. Divorce lawyers know how challenging it can be to for a couple to make decisions about child custody and how to divide their community assets and will work to make this transition easier on their clients.
The emotions that result from a divorce can make it difficult for a couple to take a reasonable approach to the division of property and child custody agreements. A divorce lawyer can be the voice of reason and work on an agreeable divorce settlement that will benefit the party they are representing.
Allowing a divorce attorney to assist with the all the legal matters will leave the divorcing parties free to carry on their lives and help them adjust to these life-changing events.
