Caleb Koke, Son of Austin Co-Pastors, Killed in Car Accident

Caleb Koke, the teenage son of co-pastors at Shoreline Christian Center in North Austin, Texas, was killed Tuesday morning in a car accident. Koke, 17, died after crashing a 2007 Chevrolet Denali into a tree while driving eastbound on RM 2243.

Police say Koke was the only one involved in the 3 a.m. crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No details on the accident were available. Koke is the son of senior pastor Robert Koke and pastor Laura Koke.

Shoreline executive pastor D.R. Dickey says Caleb was driving home from a bowling event when the accident happened. “What makes this more difficult is that Pastor Koke just lost his father in a boating accident last week and now he’s lost his son,” Dickey added.

Koke’s death was announced on the church’s website, Shoreline.net.

“Dear Church Family, It is with great sadness that we bring you news of the death of Caleb Koke. He passed away last night as the result of a car accident. We do not have any further details at this time. We know you all have a heart to help in any way you can, and for now we ask that you keep the family covered in prayer, comfort one another, and respect the family's privacy. The chapel will be open for prayer throughout the day until 8:00 p.m. Staff will be available if you need someone to talk to or pray with.  We will keep the website updated,” said a message on the site.
