Two Amish children are in critical condition after a FedEx struck the horse buggy they were traveling in.
Two Amish women and four children were traveling east on Route 37 Monday afternoon when a FedEX truck rear-ended their horse-drawn buggy. The adults and children were all thrown from the buggy. Two of three year-old girls were critically injured. The two adult women were also injured but the other two children, a nine-month infant and a four year-old boy were not injured.
The horse was not injured and was returned to its owner.
State police Sargent James Lobdell said that the accident is still under investigation, but he believes the FedEx truck was changing from the left lane to the right lane when the accident occurred.
The driver of the truck has been identified as 28 year-old Robert Williams, he and his co-worker were not injured.
