Nelson & Forbes bronze sculptures made from this timeless precious metal are lovingly created in a 14-step process, which takes British artisan craftsmen more than two weeks to complete. With the incredible attention to detail and finishing, the love poured into each piece can literally be felt.
The current Nelson & Forbes collection features three Mother & Baby pieces including the Hippopotamus Mother & Baby £475.00, Elephant Mother & Baby £475.00 and Rhinoceros Mother & Baby £510.00. Jonathan Sanders’ Warthog Family £400.00 also makes the ideal Mother’s day present for larger families who want to give their mum a joint gift from the whole brood.
These pieces, all designed by renowned sculptor Jonathan Sanders, are full of the animals’ character and perfectly depict the tender nurturing between mother and child, even from these powerful animals. Each of the Mother and Baby pieces comes in a strictly limited edition of 250, making these gifts as special and unique as the person receiving them.
Every Nelson & Forbes piece is cast in an English foundry using the ancient art of lost wax and takes two weeks to make. The casting process encompasses fourteen separate steps and each time a piece is cast, a new mould is created and then destroyed. This means that whilst being completely faithful to the artist's original work, every bronze piece is very slightly different to the last and therefore utterly unique. Every piece is presented in a sumptuous gift box, made by hand in England and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity printed from a copper engraved plate.
Jonathan Sanders’ Mother and Baby sculptures are just three of 38 pieces in the 2012 Nelson & Forbes collection, which celebrates the best of traditional British craftsmanship. Nelson & Forbes sculptures are available in galleries nationwide, or can be bought directly from www.nelsonandforbes.co.uk. Prices range from £65 - £2,000.
