Modern Lasik Surgery Traced Back to Magical Creature’s Healthcare Procedure
Giants, fairies, trolls, goblins and gnomes are creatures taken straight out of fairytale. Every aspect of these whimsical creatures has been studied from what they ate, how they dressed, who they married and where they came from, but the one aspect that hasn’t been studied is what these creatures did in regards to their optical healthcare.
“We all know what giants, fairies and trolls look like”, said Dr. Smuggles practicing Lasik surgeon at the Optical Vision and Healthcare Center in Tulsa, Arizona. “What we don’t think about is why these creatures rarely had to wear glasses. I have only seen half a dozen magical creatures rely upon glasses, and I’ve always wondered why.”
Dr. Smuggles has devoted the past seven years to extensively researching some of the most popular magical creatures in the world to better understand why these creatures didn’t need glasses. After reading 500 books, visiting a magical grove in Iceland, and talking with experts in the magical world, Dr. Smuggles believes he may have uncovered the answer.
“While traveling to Iceland to take part in a week long magical creature camp, I stumbled upon the answer while searching for an actual fairy or troll to ask”, said Dr. Smuggles. “What I believe happened is they developed some sort of magical spell or procedure that mimics what we call in the modern world “Lasik Surgery”. This was used on creatures whose eyesight was failing, thus the absence of eyeglasses.”
Dr. Smuggles plans on revealing his findings to the “Magical Creature Council and Convention” in Stockholm this coming June, where he will be hosting a lecture on magical creatures and their archaic healthcare system. A computer program simulated example of what the surgical procedure might have looked like is planned for the lecture. An ebook detailing his findings is scheduled for release in May, with a worldwide book tour scheduled for April, May and into June.
“It’s amazing. Most of what we use in today’s modern society can be traced back to what the trolls, giants or fairies used to use”, said John Travis, head chairperson of the Magical Creature Council. “Take for example electricity. The trolls and goblins used fireflies and other creatures to rig up an extensive wiring system to light an entire city. It’s no surprise Dr. Smuggles found a connection to a surgical procedure we use today to what the creatures used thousands of years ago.”
