According to a science-based study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) there are many key principles to successfully treating addiction. Per NIDA’s new release called “Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment: A Research Based Guide,” it is critical to locate a drug treatment program that can handle the specific needs of the client, including their physical, psychological, medical, occupational and legal needs.
