Paula Deen and brother, Bubba, hit with sexual harassment lawsuit

Famous Southern cook Paula Deen fired the General Manager of her Savannah, Georgia restaurant for sexual harassment and replaced him with a woman. Now in an ironic twist of fate a hostess for the popular restaurant, Lisa Jackson, is suing Paula Deen Enterprises for sexual harassment.

Jackson worked as hostess for Uncle Bubba’s Shrimp and Oyster House from 2005 until 2010 and she was promoted to General Manager last August.

Jackson filed her sexual lawsuit Monday, alleging that Bubba subjected her and other female restaurant employees to unwanted comments. Bubba once told Jackson she had nice legs and asked her repeatedly to bring in pictures of herself when she was younger. Bubba would also say that “fat women” should not wear skirts or capris pants. He would also tell crude and inappropriate jokes.

Jackson also stated that Bubba was racist and regularly used the n-word and forced black employees to use a restroom in the back while white employees were permitted to use the front restrooms.

Jackson’s sexual harassment attorney said in the suit that every day his client had to deal with the continuous sexually charged comments.

Jackson said the harassment was so bad she was forced to quit and she along with her sexual harassment lawyer are seeking unspecified damages.

Anyone subjected to this type of harassment should hire a sexual harassment attorney to hold their abusers accountable for their actions and seek compensation for their lost wages.
