Brett Favre to Give Minnesota Vikings Answer by July 30

Brett Favre has said that he is feeling “pretty good” following a series of workouts but the 39-year-old quarterback remains non-committal regarding the upcoming NFL season, telling the AP he would give the Minnesota Vikings his answer by July 30, the day training camp begins.

The three-time NFL MVP has been recouping from surgery to repair a biceps tendon, working out with a high school team in his native Mississippi. Favre has said his arm strength has increased and he is confident he could play but is concerned about his ability to play the entire season.

Favre holds a number of NFL records, among them 464 touchdown passes, 65,127 career passing yards and 5,720 career completions. After a brief retirement following the 2007 NFL season Favre opted to return to football and played for the New York Jets in 2008. He then retired once more but has expressed an interest in playing for the Minnesota Vikings.
