Enterprise Class Action Claims Customers Are Unlawfully Charged for Damaging Vehicles

A putative Enterprise class action lawsuit has been filed against the car rental company claiming that it violated state laws in Pennsylvania, Illinois, California and New York when it imposed an additional charge upon consumers who damaged their rental vehicles. Under the laws of these states, consumers are only required to pay diminished value of the vehicle or repair costs, whichever is less, according to the suit. To learn more about the proposed Enterprise class action lawsuit and to find out if you are entitled to compensation after being hit with both charges for your damaged rental vehicle, visit http://www.classaction.org/enterprise-class-action-lawsuit--1-55658.html for a free case review.

The Enterprise lawsuit was filed by a Pittsburg resident on behalf of himself and those similarly situated. The suit alleges that the car rental company is violating California, Pennsylvania, New York and Illinois state law when it collects charges for repair costs and diminishment of value from customers who accidentally damage their rental cars. According to the Enterprise lawsuit, the proper measure of damages is to charge for the diminished value of the vehicle or the costs of repair, whichever is less. The lawsuit further claims that the car rental company is not only in violation of state law, but also its own contract, which does not allow for it to charge for both personal property damages. Instead, the Enterprise lawsuit claims, it only states that it may elect to levy those charges.

In light of these allegations, ClassAction.org is looking to hear from Enterprise consumers in Illinois, California and New York to help determine if they have legal recourse. If you were charged both the costs of repairs and diminished value of your Enterprise rental car, find out if you can seek compensation for damages by visiting ClassAction.org.
