Troubled reality star Tila Tequila may be left with permanent brain damage after suffering a near-fatal brain aneurysm and drug overdose, RadarOnline.com reports. The 30-year-old’s brush with death happened last month. Insiders tell Radar Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, was awoken late one night by the severe pain that accompanies an aneurysm. She took two bottles of unidentified prescription drugs in an attempt to lessen the pain.
"Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out," an insider tells Radar.
A friend discovered Nguyen “convulsing on the bed” and called 911. The former star of “A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila” was hospitalized for a week in intensive care. "She was in two hospitals for the span of a week and is still not in perfect health, so she's going to check into an outpatient program,” the source reveals.
"It's sad to think she may have some permanent brain damage," the insider adds. “She still can't fully speak properly."
Nguyen has not commented.
