Intelligence Boss Believes Osama Bin Laden Was Not Buried At Sea

WikiLeaks has released new e-mails written by a top official at the intelligence firm Stratfor, which counts several U.S. agencies as clients, in which the official says he does not believe American authorities buried the body of al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden at sea as officially reported.

In one message, Stratfor intelligence vice-president Fred Burton says he believes Bin Laden’s body was “bound for Dover on a CIA plane.” He goes on to say that the body was then likely moved to the “Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda.”

In another e-mail, Burton says he does not see the FBI or Department of Justice letting Bin Laden’s body go because his remains are “a crime scene.”

The e-mails were obtained in December by the hacker group Anonymous. Stratfor, which is often referred to by the media as the “shadow CIA,” released a statement in late February calling the hacking and publishing of the messages “a deplorable, unfortunate - and illegal - breach of privacy.”

“Some of the emails may be forged or altered to include inaccuracies; some may be authentic. We will not validate either. Nor will we explain the thinking that went into them. Having had our property stolen, we will not be victimized twice by submitting to questioning about them,” the company said.
