If you have ever thought of having a liposuction to correct some or your figure flaws it is likely that you have done some research to see which type of procedure will give you the best results. And while the end results are important another factor that must be considered is your recovery.
Doctors in the UK have found that ultrasound liposuction, called Vaser lipo, reduces the discomfort that patients endure after more traditional procedures such as tumescent liposuction.
Vaser lipo employs ultrasound to dissolve the unwanted fat, which is then suctioned out with the use of a cannula. Vaser lipo only requires local anesthesia while other liposuction techniques require general anesthesia. Localized anesthesia greatly reduces the time a patient will need to recover.
A report by the Alex Chambers Clinic in the UK evaluated 129 patients who had undergone ultra sound lipo and found that swelling in 90 percent of those patients had subsided within 24 days. They also found that bruising was less of a problem, according to Private Health UK.
Doctors also believe that patients can return to their normal routine just one day after Vaser lipo.
Recovery and end results are crucial to a person thinking of liposuction, but every person is different and will have different reactions and results. It is advised that a patient allow their board certified plastic surgeon help them make an informed decision about which type of liposuction procedure is right for them.
