Addiction Treatment Program offered at Freedom Drug Rehab

An overview of substance abuse and addiction

Every year, millions of Americans suffer with substance abuse and addiction issues. Sadly, only about 10% of them actually enroll in an addiction treatment program and get help for their abuse and dependency. There are an average of 40 million annually reported cases of death due to overdose and serious illnesses that are associated with substance abuse and addiction. As a result, substance dependency is a serious public health threat as well as having financial, legal, and societal consequences for the individual.

The need for quality addiction rehab programs

As a result of the above, there has never been a greater need for addiction treatment programs that address the health and legal aspects of substance dependency. However, finding the right addiction treatment program is not as easy as you would think. There are literally hundreds of these facilities found throughout the US today. Unfortunately, not all of them are effective where addiction treatment and recovery is concerned. To find the best program, you have to understand the differences between them.

The two basic types of rehab programs

There are two categories of addiction treatment and recovery centers, namely traditional and alternative. The traditional facilities look like clinics or hospitals and employ the more conventional rehab methods and therapies. Unfortunately, they have the lowest success rates because they take a one-size-fits-all approach to addiction treatment and recovery. On the other hand, the alternative addiction treatment program offers the client a homelike environment complete with amenities which proves to be more comforting to the individual.

Additionally, these alternative or residential facilities typically provide clients with a choice of in-patient or out-patient rehab programs, depending on the severity of their addiction and aspects of their personal life. Here are the key differences:

Out-patient addiction treatment program – The best choice for those individuals who are the sole guardian of children in the home, in pursuing an education, or working a full-time job (or a combination of these) need this program. This helps them stay with the routine life yet be able to seek the addiction treatment that is needed.

In-patient addiction treatment program – the ideal solution for individuals with severe addiction issues and possibly behavioral or mental disorders. Individuals that need 24/7 supervision and care or medical support for eliminating the addictions, are the right candidates.
