Huntington, WV- A truck driver was killed Wednesday night after he was struck by a passing semi on Route 35.
Putnam County Sheriff’s department said the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. when a truck driver was outside of his cab beside the driver side door. A passing semi clipped the door mirrors of the parked tractor-trailer truck, which knocked the man off, under the passing semi and then ran over him.
The semi driver stopped shortly down the road to exchange information. Another motorist spotted the trucker’s body and attempted to administer First Aid along with the semi driver while waiting for emergency crews.
The truck driver, whose identity has not been released, died on the scene. Police are still investigation the accident. They have not determined if there will be any charges.
