The remains of Paige Birgfeld, a missing Colorado mom who secretly ran an escort service, have been found in a Colorado creek bed. A hiker walking in the Wells Gulch area of Delta County discovered Birgfeld’s body Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. Dental records were used in the identification process.
Authorities have not commented on the possible cause of death. Birgfeld’s case is now considered a homicide instead of a missing person’s case.
"I don't know about closure. I think of my daughter at least three or four times a day every day. The fact that we found out where she is, I don't know that this is going to change that,” Frank Birgfeld tells the Denver Post.
Birgfeld disappeared in June 2007. Her car was discovered burning in a parking lot near her Grand Junction home and some of her personal effects were found scattered along a nearby highway. Birgfeld was 34 at the time. She left behind three children.
