Dick Van Dyke is a newlywed! The 86-year-old actor has confirmed he tied the knot with girlfriend Arlene Silver, 40, on February 29. Van Dyke tells RumorFix.com it was a “spur of the moment” decision.
“Kind of on the spur of the moment, we decided Leap Day would be the best time to do it,” he says.
Van Dyke says he and Silver fell in love over “the last couple of years.” They first met six years ago at the SAG Awards and became close friends after Van Dyke hired Silver to be his personal makeup artist. "I'm not a loner. I have to have a life partner. I found the perfect one,” the actor says.
"He’s the happiest person I ever met. He's got an infectious spirit,” Silver adds.
This is the second marriage for Van Dyke. He was married to Margie Willett for 36 years before their divorce in 1984. They have four children together.
