World Cup Construction workers end strike

Looks like the World Cup will still reside in Africa.  The strike ended yesterday Wednesday July 15, 2009.  Their bosses finally agreed to pay them the 12% pay increase they requested.    This is a major relief for FIFA given the event is less than a year away.  It seems as though they did not have a choice but to give the raises because of all the events planned for 2010.  I’m glad this process did not take long.  Five stadiums are being built from scratch and five are being updated in nine cities which will host 64 World Cup matches.
