Customized Components – The Next Step in Addiction Treatment

Most treatment centers will design a customized treatment plan for a patient based on his or her needs at the time of admission. We take it one step further by allowing patients to tailor their treatment plan as they move through the recovery process."
"For example," Huttner said, "a woman who enters a drug treatment program may through therapy, begin to acknowledge that she has disordered eating patterns. We can then customize her treatment plan to include some of our eating disorder treatment components. If a man enters our drug treatment program and decides that he is ready to disclose his homosexuality to his friends and family, we have special GLBT therapy groups he can turn to for guidance and support."
Scientific research cited in an article published by The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) indentified that one of the key principles of an effective addiction treatment program was, "an individual's treatment and services plan must be assessed often and modified to meet the person's changing needs."
