Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ: RIMM) recently made known they have entered into a definitive agreement to settle all outstanding worldwide patent litigation between Research In Motion Limited and Visto Corporation
The terms of the settlement include Research In Motion Limited receiving a perpetual and fully-paid license on all Visto Corporation patents, a transfer of certain Visto Corporation intellectual property, payment by Research In Motion Limited of US $ 267.5 million and all parties executing full and final releases in respect of all outstanding worldwide litigation. Expected completion of the settlement will be during the week of July 20, 2009 and is subject to certain closing conditions.
