PELHAM, Alabama — Alabama’s strict illegal immigration laws are doing a lot more than just targeting immigrants across the state, they are also preventing students from seeing Charlie Brown and Snoopy in a musical.
A public Alabama high school has been forced to postpone the production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" after a New York licensing house that owns the rights to the play has refused to submit paperwork that is required under the state’s i1mmigration law.
Tams-Witmark Music Library Inc. finally submitted the document on Friday but Pelham High School is still required to purchase the rights to the play, which can cost over $1,200.
