Iowa US Cellular employees accused of sexual harassment

If you have ever used your cell phone to take and send nude pictures to someone this sexual harassment lawsuit should serve as a warning that those photos are not necessarily private. According to a woman who worked at a US Cellular store in Iowa, her co-workers would regularly search a customer’s phone, brought in for servicing, for nude photos and share them with other employees.

Lisa Blazek worked for the Spencer US Cellular store in Spencer, Iowa from 2007 to 2010, and alleges that during that time when a customer brought in their cell phones for repair or servicing the first thing employees did was scroll through their photos for “nude or sexually explicit pictures.”

Blazek and her sexual harassment attorney filed her lawsuit last year, but amended it last week to include more allegations. Blazek said she was repeatedly shown pornographic images from customer phones and was also asked by co-workers about her genitalia and her favorite sexual positions.

Blazek also alleges that after she complained about the harassment, her supervisors took steps to cover up the misconduct. Her manager also once told her since she was the one with the problem she would just have to deal with it. Her hours were changed so she didn’t have to work with the worst offender, but her harassers were never disciplined.

Sexual harassment lawyers want people to know that they don’t have to deal with this behavior in the workplace and that there are laws in place to protect them. Anyone who fears their job is jeopardy can retain a sexual harassment attorney to prevent retaliation and seek compensation for lost wages of they have lost their jobs.
