Ford Taurus models under investigation for sticky throttles

The Ford motor company is now under investigation for safety concerns over unintended acceleration in Taurus models manufactured in 2005 and 2006.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received over a dozen complaints from drivers who say that that they have had trouble stopping their vehicles because the throttles have become stuck.

Some of the complainants said they had to put their cars in park or the neutral position just to stop their vehicles. Others have seen their engines rev up to 4,000 revolutions per second after they have put them in the neutral or park.

The NHTSA reported that investigators are looking into cruise control cables that have allegedly become detached.

One person filing a complaint said that in one incident they were unable to stop their car for a red light and went partially into an intersection. No accidents caused by a sticky throttle have been reported, but with close to 360,000 Taurus models on the road it could just be a matter of time.

Should anyone be involved in a traffic collision because of a manufacturers default they can contact an accident attorney to determine if they have legal course of action.

Accident lawyers must be able to prove that an accident has been caused either by driver negligence or by faulty mechanics. With an accident attorney fighting by their side’s, injury victims will be able to get compensation for any harm caused by another.
