James Van Der Beek became a father for the second time Tuesday when his wife Kimberly gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The baby joins older sister Olivia, 17 months.
“Had my first son this morning… well, actually, my wife had him. I just caught him. Wow. Heart expanding way faster than my brain,” Van Der Beek Tweeted.
“If you could bottle up and distribute this feeling, I swear there’d be no more war. #fatherhood,” he added.
Kimberly called her son’s birth a “blessed and miraculous” experience and thanked fans for their well wishes.
The couple has not announced their son’s name. They tied the knot in August 2010. Van Der Beek, 35, is best known for playing Dawson Leery on Dawson’s Creek. He can be seen next on the ABC comedy Don’t Trust the B – in Apt. 23.
