American Idol contestant Jermaine Jones has reportedly been disqualified because of his criminal record. Neither Fox nor American Idol has commented on the reports, but Jones tweeted about the situation on Tuesday before his account was deleted.
"Awww I will no longer b on the show," he wrote.
James’ criminal record reportedly includes multiple outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license, and two arrests last year for public nuisance, obstruction of justice, providing false information to police and hindering apprehension. He apparently lied to Idol producers about his past.
Jones was originally eliminated from American Idol before the top 24, but judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler brought him back as a wild card.
