Math Equation Able to Predict Celebrity Divorces

The celebrity set doesn’t have a very good record with keeping their vows and it seems like once a week there is another high-profile star heading to a divorce attorney to end their marriages. On clever self-proclaimed nerd developed a mathematical equation to determine the length of a celebrity marriage.

The Sundem/Tierney Unified Celebrity Theory, created by author Garth Sundem, was first published in his 2006 novel “Brain Trust,” and used a number of factors to determine the longevity of a famous marriage. The factors of the initial equation included a number of variables, which include the celeb’s ages, the length of their courtship, previous marital history, and their fame. But when some of the predictions failed the equation was looked at again and tweaked.

The fails include Anjelina Jolie and Brad Bitt whose relationship was given a 12 percent success rate while Kenny Chesney and Renee Zellwegger were given a 100 percent success rate; their marriage lasted a scant 291 days before they hired a divorce lawyer.

Now, Sundem has added another variable to the divorce equation to refine the formula. The new formula includes a figure that divides the number of times a celebrity is mentioned in the New York Times by the number of times they are mentioned in the National Enquirer. Sundem told the Times, “It turns out that overall fame doesn’t matter as much as the flavor of the fame. It’s the tabloid fame that dooms you.”

In fame-obsessed America it is no doubt that we are entranced by an equation that will help us determine at which point our favorite stars will need a divorce attorney.
