Rockwood, PA- A truck driver is dead after he collides head-on with a school bus carrying 24 passengers on a rural road in Pennsylvania.
The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., when a Pepsi truck traveling on Route 281 crossed over a center line into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with the bus carrying high school students.
The impact of the crash pushed the bus so that it was crossing both lanes of the roadway.
Twenty-one of the students were injured, but most of the injuries were not serious. Two adults on the bus and several students were flown to a local hospital. One adult on the bus was listed in critical condition and the others are in fair condition.
The truck driver, Robert Dodson Jr., 31, was killed. The Associated Press reported that authorities planned to do an autopsy on the truck driver to determine why he lost control of his truck.
The bus was carrying students from a vocational school in Somerset County.
