Michael Vick Released from Federal Custody

Michael Vick has been released from federal custody after serving two months of house arrest as part of a 23-month sentence he was serving for his guilt in a federal dogfighting case.

Vick has expressed optimism about returning to the NFL and has said he would like to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the possibility of lifting is suspension. Goodell has, in the past, said he would review the Vick case after his sentenced was served.

Vick served the first 18 months of his sentence in the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas before he was transferred to home confinement in May. The former star quarterback will remain on probation for three years.
