Michael Vick gets released from federal custody

Michael Vick gets released

Michael Vick was released today Monday July, 20, 2009 from federal custody.  He was under custody for his role in a dog fighting operation in Virginia.  He was also served prison time for the same involvement.

As of right now it is not known if he will be reinstated by the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.  The Commissioner suspended Vick indefinitely and did not give a ruling on a possible reinstatement.  Roger Goodell said that he would not make a finalized decision until Michael Vick’s legal case is fully concluded.  He also stated that he will consider a reinstatement if he demonstrated genuine remorse.  They will most likely meet face to face.  Even after they meet it’s still not clear whether any NFL teams are interested in signing Vick who is now a free agent after the Atlanta Falcons released him.
