A New Hampshire woman has died after she was struck by a car while walking along Route 10 with friends.
According to Newport Police Chief James Burroughs, a Chevrolet Blazer was traveling the same direction as the three women when the driver drifted across the fog line and onto the shoulder striking the woman closest to traffic. Burroughs said that the shoulder was wide enough for three people to walk along it safely.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene Stephanie Burch, 30, who has an 8 year-old daughter, was already dead.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Kanesha Capbell, a 17 year-old Newport High School student, stopped immediately and called 911. Police said that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident and spent hours recreating the accident to determine the cause.
Pedestrians and cyclists often suffer serious or grave personal injuries when they are hit by a car, which will result in costly medical bills. Victims and accident attorneys realize that most accidents are unintentional, but they nevertheless will want to recover the medical and funeral costs, which result from a collision. The skills of an accident lawyer are instrumental in getting injury victims the compensation they deserve.
No matter whether a person is involved in a vehicle, pedestrian or bicycle accident they can hire an accomplished accident lawyer to build a court case or negotiate with the careless driver’s insurance company to make certain the injured or the families of the deceased are justly compensated for their suffering.
