While Tom Watson failed to make history at the British Open Championship on Sunday the 59-year-old managed to grab a piece on Monday after jumping 1,269 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings to land at 105.
The move from 1,374 to 105 is the largest one-week jump since the rankings began in 1986.
Watson would have vaulted to 45th in the rankings had he made his 8-foot par putt on 18 on Sunday but after settling for bogey he entered a four-hole playoff with Stewart Cink where he failed to reclaim the form that had him within a shot of lifting the Claret Jug.
