Three-truck accident in Pennsylvania sends truck crashing into historic building

An accident involving three trucks late Monday morning resulted in serious injuries to two men and significant damage to a 229 year-old building.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, police said that a Ryder moving truck, driven by Mathew Pawlowski, 49, was traveling west on Route 30 when he slowed to make a right turn on Salisbury Road.

A Ford pickup truck, driven by Daniel Gibson, 39, was traveling behind the moving truck and slowed down to allow the turn.

However, the third truck in the line of traffic, a Volvo tractor-trailer operated by Cory Gomez, 40, did not stop at all and slammed into the rear of the Ford pickup.

According to police, the impact of the crash caused the Ryder truck to slam into a historic building, which is the office of a local business Tier Holdings. One wall of the building crumbled on top of the moving van, but did not injure any of the employees inside. With the help of a truck accident attorney, the business owners will be able recover the cost of repairing their office building.

The Ford pickup and the moving van were wedged together. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. They were both taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Ford pickup truck sustained the most damage, and will likely be totaled, but the driver can replace their property once they retain a truck accident lawyer to seek damages.

Police have not issued any citations for the accident, yet as they continue to investigate, but once they assign fault, the victims of the collision should retain a truck accident attorney to begin building a case which will assure they obtain maximum compensation.
