Bonner Springs, KS- One driver was killed and another injured following a two car accident in Bonner Springs earlier this morning.
According to Kansas Highway Patrol, a woman was driving southbound on K-7, around 8:30a.m.,when she attempted to stop for a traffic signal on Kansas Ave. She lost control of her vehicle and crossed over the median into the northbound lanes of K-7 where she was broad-sided by another vehicle.
The southbound driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The man driving the northbound vehicle was injured and transported to a local hospital where he will recover.
Authorities believe that the weather and time were factors contributing to the accidents. Roads in the area were slick after rain. Police said that oil and water have a tendency to mix and pool near intersections.
